Girls Advisory Council

As part of our Positive Youth Development approach at Ophelia’s Place, we are forming a Girls Advisory Council that will be comprised of 8-10 girls, ages 12-18. For a term of at least one year, they will meet twice a month to help guide and influence Ophelia’s Place activities. Each year GAC members will elect two Co-Advisors who will lead the council and also serve as liaisons to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain leadership skills, make friends, and get involved in community building activities. This will give members a chance to share their ideas and make decisions that will impact other girls. It will also look great on a resume or college application!

To be part of the GAC, you must be committed to the Ophelia's Place goals (see below) and be nominated by a teacher or other adult. Contact Kyra at 284-4333 or email: kyrakelly@opheliasplace.net to find out more!

Ophelia's Place Goals:

Ophelia’s place is a supportive center for girls ages 10-18. It is our goal to empower young women to make healthy, informed decisions about their many important life choices. We offer support groups, a supportive environment for girls, a great library,  resource and referral information, and a listening ear for any concerns or questions girls may have.
