Drop-in is a space where girl-identified youth can hang out, relax, and build a new community of peers and safe adults. We have a regular craft of the week, games, a library, ping-pong, and so much more; our snacks are great too! Drop-in days also occasionally feature community partners who provide unique activity opportunities, from fanfiction and crafting to robotics and themed parties! So come and drop in any day and any time between 3-6pm from Monday to Thursday every school week.

OP Queer Space is a drop-in support group for members of the LGBTQIA+/Queer community. This space is for all girls and trans youth of any gender who are queer identified and/or are exploring their gender or sexual/romantic identity. Trans girls, cis girls, trans boys, gender fluid and nonbinary folks are all welcome to participate. This online group provides professional and peer support helpful in managing challenges faced by queer and trans youth. The group is facilitated by OP therapists and focuses on empowerment and community building from a strengths-based, relational approach. Come build your queer community! The group will help participants to reclaim health, practice self-care, cultivate self-love, find inner strength, and build community.  Body Positive Ophelia’s Place uses the Be Body PositiveTM curriculum – a program based in research and Health at Every SizeTM. This free drop-in support group is open to all middle- and high-school aged girls and non-binary youth who are seeking a safe place to talk about the issues in their lives. Weekly attendance is not required. Youth can “drop-in” as needed. The group is facilitated by OP therapists and focuses on empowerment, support, and skill-building. This is a great opportunity for youth who are on the therapy waiting list to access therapeutic support while they wait. Regular attendance is not required. In many cultures, dance is an essential part of the healing process, particularly in relieving the symptoms of psychological distress. Dance plays an integral role in socialization, expression, and building community, which helps maintain one’s well-being.

Join Ophelia’s Place and RITMO, Oregon State University’s Latin Dance team for an unforgettable evening of dance! This event will start with a dance class from 5-6pm followed by an open dance session from 6-7pm. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to dance and make new friends.

Join us for a day at the market! We will explore the Farmer’s Market in downtown Albany, learning about what’s in season and enjoying the sights and scents of the market. Together we will select some local ingredients to take back to OP and make a tasty snack. This will be a day full of fresh air, good company, and delicious eats, so don’t miss it! We will be walking to the market from Ophelia’s Place and back, so please bring comfortable shoes and sunscreen.

The market is located at SW Ellsworth St &, SW 4th Ave in downtown Albany. Drop off and pick up is at Ophelia’s Place at 104 SE Fourth Avenue.

Facilitated by Jael and Hailey from the Journalistic Learning Initiative, girls will collaborate on an all-new pop-up publication produced by young women, for young women. Beyond learning the basic journalistic skills required to create effective written and multimedia stories, we will explore the history and trajectory of women’s journalism and consider the value of storytelling driven by young women. Girls will support one another in pitching original stories and collaborating on the publication’s mission, editorial aesthetic, and goals. This camp is designed to empower young women to share the stories that matter to them and encouraging them to find confidence in their distinct voices and perspectives.

Healing Trauma Together is an in-person group for girl-identified and nonbinary youth ages 14-18 who have experienced trauma specifically related to neglect and /or emotional, physical, and sexual harm. This therapy group is facilitated by OP therapists and will provide an opportunity for youth to learn about the effects of trauma, develop coping strategies for stress and trauma triggers, express feelings in a safe, supportive environment, and build relationships with other group members who can understand and relate to the impact of trauma. Advanced registration is required.

This week will combine STEAM exploration with outdoor adventure! Whether you’re a nature lover or just into cool science experiments, this camp is for you! Esta es una receta llena de texturas y ricos sabores, ¡acompáñanos!” 

We are going to cook alfajores, a popular dessert from South America, especially in Argentina, like a cookie sandwich with sweet cream or strawberry jam fillings, with a fine and delicate consistency that melts in the mouth. This is a recipe full of textures and rich flavors, join us!
