Anahí, Youth Engagement Facilitator
Anahí is the Youth Engagement Facilitator at Ophelia’s Place. She graduated from University of Oregon in 2025 with a degree in Cinema Studies and a minor in Ethnic Studies. Anahí facilitates OP’s girl-led leadership group, WACY (Women’s Advocacy Council for Youth), where she dedicates her time to empowering youth voices through leadership in community service and activism work. Her work as the Youth Engagement Facilitator expands into the community, where she creates connections and collaborates with other local nonprofits. She also assists in creating content for OP’s social media, where she captures genuine moments of girls’ experiences and promotes OP’s mission of empowering and encouraging youth. Additionally, Anahí is part of the AOS (After and Out of School) team, where she co-develops the quarterly calendar, facilitates workshops, and provides support during drop-in hours.
Anahí is a bilingual and first-generation Latina of Mexican descent who grew up in Oregon. As a Mexican woman living in diaspora, her passion lies in supporting the Latine/a/o community by focusing on fostering authentic connection and acknowledging unique perspectives.
In her free time, she loves watching films and updating her Letterboxd, thrifting, reading, and hanging out with friends.
She would tell her 13 year old self to not put the books down! Keep creating and keep imagining. Your story is worth being told and you have so much to keep living for.
