Naomi, Therapist

She/Her

Naomi is a Therapist at Ophelia’s Place with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as a Master’s degree in Counseling from Oregon State University. She is committed to fostering a safe, nonjudgemental space where youth can let curiosity drive an exploration of their experiences, build insight and develop skills they can employ throughout life allowing them to grow their confidence and resilience.

In Naomi’s work with clients, she holds a strong belief that each youth has their own unique strengths, and they have the innate capacity to grow. Adolescence can be a time that feels especially confusing, overwhelming and the uncertainty can feel intimidating. Her hope is that engaging in therapy where we let curiosity, compassion, and respect for everyone’s lived experiences lead us to see that adolescence can also be a time that is exciting, empowering, and full of opportunity. She holds the belief that one of the first steps in creating any change begins with the client feeling seen, heard, and understood.

Naomi works to integrate a systems-based perspective with a trauma informed perspective. This allows her not only to see the youth she works with but also how they show up in relationships and connections to their larger environments. We all have ties to our family, friends, and larger community that will shape us in a variety of ways. She enjoys helping clients build awareness of their emotions, thoughts, and body responses, how these all work in harmony and serve as ways to access some inner guidance we all hold.

Naomi’s advice to her 13-year-old self is – “Your inner voice knows more than you think. The dreams and desires you have are worth listening to, even when doubt and others’ opinions try to drown them out. Learning to quiet the noise and trust yourself will open doors you can’t yet imagine.”
